Description: Today we are discussing with Candy Whirley the ways to Bridge the Gap between baby boomers, X’ers and millennial generations. Learn the differences of what’s important to each group. Listen in to some of the similarities your workplace may have. Be Aware that What Matters most may vary among the generations Baby Boomers – Dedication & Getting the job done – even if it means staying late X – Work, Life, Balance Millennials – Working Smarter, Not Harder Ways to Merge within the Office Candy goes over the most asked questions that one generation will ask one another at her workshops. Finding out that giving feedback to your millennial is very beneficial while also the reality of wanting certain results is not always realistic within companies that have existed a certain way for such a long time period. Understand that the baby boomer generation has changed, they have gone through the technology changes along with the new mindsets that are coming into your workplace. One key thing to remember with each and every one of your employees no matter which generation they may be classified as: Do Not Micromanage. When working with a variety of these generations a few key things to remember are to be patient with some, trust others and offer those staff that wish to have more balance in their everyday life a few working hours at home. Reverse Mentoring Allow your millennials to teach others how to use technology in a different more efficient way, as the workforce continues to evolve and change this can be a good way to bring interaction and respect into the workplace for each generation. As an expert in this field even Candy has seen how different the perspectives within each of these three generations is beginning to change as a generation goes across 20 years and the lines are sometimes blurred when it comes to the younger Baby Boomers and older Millennials as they relate more to the generation beneath or above them rather then the inklings within their own.
