Is psilocybin a potential treatment for major depression? There's certainly been a lot of press coverage, but to date, the reports are largely open trials in a variety of conditions, including OCD, substance use, PTSD, and patients with cancer and psychological distress. Against that backdrop, a randomized trial of psilocybin for major depression is an exciting new step.
