¿Recuerdas la primera edición? Esta ya es la decimotercera. Era marzo de 2013. Apenas acababa de arrancar el mes y, a pesar de los rigores del invierno madrileño, fueron miles las personas que se acercaron durante aquel fin de semana a la terraza del Hard Rock Café para visitar el estudio de campaña en el que durante 48 horas sonaron las 500 mejores canciones de la historia del rock según los oyentes de RockFM. Era la primera votación popular de una radio aún recién nacida y la respuesta a través de nuestras redes sociales fue también abrumadora. Y así lo ha seguido siendo en cada edición, consiguiendo que toda la comunidad de fans de la cultura rock se movilice al máximo en sucesivas ocasiones.

Y es que, a pesar de lo que muchos pudieran pensar, "emoción" es la palabra que mejor definiría cada una de las ediciones de nuestro RockFM 500. Y si no, que se lo digan a El Pirata, que ha ejercido de maestro de ceremonias en cada una de las mismas; o a todos esos amigos y oyentes que hacen sus apuestas vía X, Facebook o Instagram, haciéndonos llegar así su pasión y su nerviosismo. Porque cuando votas por tu canción favorita de todos los tiempos, siempre tienes la sana curiosidad de saber si hay mucha más gente en el mundo con la que compartes himno de cabecera o no.

Este 2025, el RockFM 500 promete ser uno de los más especiales: ¿servirá el retiro de Black Sabbath para auparle en la lista? ¿El 50º aniversario de "Bohemian Rhapsody" provocará para que la canción llegue al número 1? ¿El regreso de Oasis provocará que los hermanos Gallagher den la sorpresa por primera vez en su historia? ¿O será otro contendiente el que se haga con la corona? La clave de todo es que la respuesta la tienes tú.
