Cependant, les sadhus (mendiants) commencent a se rassembler des la veille, soit le 12 fevrier. Ces personnes se rendent au temple du Pashupatinath afin de celebrer ce qui consiste en l'anniversaire du Seigneur Shiva. Shiva est represente sous la forme de yogi ou bien de mendiant et autres formes, d'ou la presence d'autant de mendiants de Katmandou dans ce temple-la ce jour precis. Le nom 'Pashupati' est l'un des nombreux noms que porte le Seigneur Shiva. La coutume du Shiva Ratri est de jeuner et veiller toute na nuit en accomplissant un 'puja' toutes les 3 heures (4 fois durant la nuit). Lors de ces ablutions, du lait, du lait caille, du beurre et enfin du miel sont donnes en offrandes au Dieu, dans cette ordre. Chaque ablution est suivie d'une offrande de feuille de bilva, appreciee par Shiva. Il n'est pas anormal de voir des mendiants se partager une cigarette de marijuana, ou bien de fumer la pipe. / 13/02/2018 - Nepal / Kathmandu - The Shiva Ratri (or Maha Shiavatri translated as 'The Great Night of Shiva') is normally held on February 13th. However, the sadhus (beggars) begin to gather the day before, the 12th of February. These people go to the temple of Pashupatinath to celebrate the birthday of Lord Shiva. Shiva is represented in the form of yogi or beggar and many other forms, hence the presence of as many beggars from Kathmandu in this temple on this particular day. The name 'Pashupati' is one of the many names that Lord Shiva carries. The custom of Shiva Ratri is to fast and watch all night by performing a 'puja' every 3 hours (4 times during the night). During these ablutions, milk, curd, butter and finally honey are given as offerings to God, in this order. Bis 2015 ein Erdbeben Tausende Wohnhäuser und etliche Tempel in Schutt und Asche legte und die Touristen ausblieben. So langsam ändert sich das und Nepal ist zurück auf der Reisebühne, ob mit Öko-Tourismus, Fahrradtouren oder Klosteraufenthalten.
