Cancer is a common disease. Awareness regarding familial risk is evolving in the general population. However, information regarding patterns of heredity and affected organs is scarce. The internet has become the main tool for information, specifically for health-related issues. Also, due to increased surveillance, patterns of heredity may be blurred by patients developing polyps and not frank cancers. This aspect is not accounted for in the clinical criteria of Lynch Syndrome. We developed an online risk-assesment questionnaire and were interested in answering the following questions:
• Is online risk assessment of familial colorectal cancer a well-accepted tool?
• Does it reach the at-risk population? |
