TIME magazine reports that the teen unemployment rate is the highest since
the government began tracking it in the 1940s. Only 4.5 million teens are
employed, which is roughly half the 9.2 million who were employed three
decades ago. Teens are missing out on vital work experience, plus all the
lessons, responsibility, and income for the future that come from a job. It’s
tough being a teen today without the added uncertainties of what the economic
future holds.
So what can parents do to help their kids succeed, especially now?
