In this episode we explore the 12 stages of the Hero's Journey as written about by Joseph Campbell in his seminal book, The Hero With a Thousand Faces. We begin by explaining the principles behind the 8 archetypes and how we all embody aspects of each archetype, whether consciously or unconsciously. We then discuss the idea of the 'mono myth' and why myths have remained so enduring throughout human history in terms of their ability to help reveal the true nature of the soul. In the final part of the episode we discuss each stage of the Hero's Journey in sequence, with reference to key scenes from the film version of The Lord of The Rings and The Matrix.
