	Description:		“ I walked in here this morning scared out of my wits that my voice wouldn’t hold up – it is amazing, it has held up, I told you, something strange is happening to me, so thank you” This is a very special episode of the Mario Rosenstock podcast – my guest is Charlie Bird, one of Ireland’s best known reporters, a very familiar face on our TV screens for many decades, and a familiar voice on radio too. But it was with great sadness that, last year, following a shock diagnosis of motor neuron disease, Charlie learned that he was losing that famous voice. The months since Charlies diagnosis have been an total rollercoaster for him – he admitted to Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show last December that he cried every day since learning of his condition, but then something incredible happened - the entire country came together in a swell of support, letters and emails and calls came flooding in, and, as he says in our chat, something very special has happened to him over the last few weeks and he has found peace. Charlie is now on a mission to turn this big negative into a positive – and in this chat we talk all about how he’s planning to do that, the love he has felt from all of us since his diagnosis, the highlights of his career in RTE, and lots more.
