But even after he kills his brother, Cain expresses that he is afraid of being killed. Pastor Erwin points out that Cain was afraid of being killed because he himself was a murderer and therefore it informed how he saw everyone around him. As we navigate life, Pastor Erwin points out that we either see the world as a beautiful place full of possibility or a dangerous place full of threat. We're encouraged that if we want to find trustworthy friends, we must become trustworthy. If we want to find a better world, we need to become better people.
