Ben kicks off the hour with Ren Lavoie from TV-A Sports Montreal with the news that Carey Price will start the season on LTIR and might not even play this season at all. With a new set of executives, managers and coaches, it is really an end of an era. The Price contract alone marked their life tougher if and when when he gets healthy. Later (26:00) we stay in The Bronx with Marly Rivera from ESPN as the Yankees are in complete free fall since the MLB deadline. Aaron Judge has been incredible but it feels the team is relying too much on him to carry them. Finally (40:00) we speak to the founder of 3ICE which is a 3 on 3 league airing on CBS. It has radical rules like 2 halves with a running clock, continuous play and no faceoffs. Coaches range from John LeClair to Grant Fuhr and Guy Carbonneau. The Commissioner is Craig Patrick. EJ explains why the NHL is paying attention, the rules it might adopt and removing parts of hockey where there is a lot of stalling on offence.
