In 1893, a man named H.H. Holmes was the master of his domain. He lured victims to his macabre hotel that he outfitted with trap doors, gas chambers, and a basement crematorium. According to some claims, he killed up to 200 people inside his Murder Castle, and is considered to be one of America’s first serial killers.
