When people go to work, they expect to be safe. Sadly, that is not always the truth. Workplaces accidents happen, but sometimes employers ignore things that create risk.
A great example of this was my uncle. He worked for a company driving and working with heavy equipment at a work site for many years. But what he didn’t know was that the buildings on his worksite were contaminated with exposed asbestos. He and many of his co-workers developed cancer, and passed away. His employer eventually recognized their fault, and settled with the victims families.
Now imagine for a moment that you were a female who worked in the early 20th century. Imagine your employer knew what they were doing all along when they decided to lie to you, and put you in a direct line towards death.
