I was driving over to the Berkeley Tennis Club recently for a practice session, and I got a hankering to record a short podcast session about a match I played in Perth Australia a few years ago when I was on the USA World Cup team..
My perception that day of what I thought I had to do to win that match was completely out of whack. In fact, it was so wrong that I was about to lose the match until team captain Hugh Thomson gave me a few words of advice that turned the match around for me.
Call me crazy, but I’m willing to bet the house that on occasion your perception of what you think you need to do with this next serve, this return of serve, this volley, this overhead, this passing shot, this drop shot, (stop me!), you get the picture, that perception is very often not even close to reality.
This a shorter than normal podcast. Give it a good listen, and then I’d love to read & respond to your thoughts. Let me know in the Comments area below. Thanks ...
