Description: Every once in awhile, I like to use this podcast to indulge myself. What am I talking about, this show is ALL about indulging myself. But when I recently looked back on the three or so years that I have been a part of Binge, I realized that while I have covered a few of the major horror franchises of our time (Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play) I never really dedicated a FULL show to the whole horror genre. Until now. But I couldn't do that monstrous (see what I did there?) task alone. I decided to give the big film brain on Matt (Goudreau) a rest this week in order to bring on someone who knows the horror genre through and through. Mostly because she has lived it, both growing up and in front of the camera. I am talking about horror hostess and scream queen, Ms Jennifer Nangle. Things get off to a rocky start as I unload grievances about how we came to this point when it comes to watching her work. But from then on out, Ms Nangle and I have a constructive conversation about her growing up, and of course I gravitated toward stories of how she lived in a haunted house until she was six. We then move on to talk about the horror genre from the 90s to this point, and things get feisty when a few of the films discussed (hint: at least one is pictured below) nearly leads to blows. But before Nangle had the chance to cast a spell on and kill me, things calm down and throughout the conversation, we pepper in talk about Wes Craven, how tough a job producing can be, and what's next for the horror genre. In all seriousness, this was a fun as hell podcast to record, and I would love for Ms Nangle to come back, maybe do a podcast with me on the air. But what should we watch?
