Een podcast uitzonder in het Engels omdat we heel graag Aki Saito uitnodigden op de koffie!
Dus de intro doen we hier ook meteen in het Engels:
Aki Saito currently teaches ballet at the Royal Ballet School of Antwerp but she is mostly known for her extraordinary international career as a ballet dancer. We’ll try to give a brief summary of her leading roles in some of the greatest classical ballets, although the list knows no end.
She danced the leading role in Giselle, The Swan Lake, Don Quichote and The Nutcracker. Furthermore, she was asked to perform at the international gala prior to the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. She performed in Texas, Tokyo, Nagano, Hong Kong, Paris and so on.
In 2007, Aki Saito received the "Ballet 2000" Critics Award in Cannes and was asked for several international dance internships. In 2015, she was also voted "Outstanding performance" by DANCE EUROPE for her role as Tatiana in John Cranko's Onegin and for Love Fear Loss by Ricardo Amarante. In 2016, she was honored as a Knight of the Order of Leopold.
Quite an inspiring list to say the least and therefore the reason why we invited her for this conversation on the topic of creativity. |
