If you’ve read my most recent book, this one wild and precious life, you’re probably aware David Whyte is the guy who got me into poetry, Steven Spielberg has said the same.
David’s work has have a massive impact on me. It taught me stillness and patience and got me to love and honour my aloneness, which has been a lifelong struggle.
Not long after I heard David’s work, I was on my nomadic travels, having coffee when a friend invited me to coffee with his friend, it was David!
He is a poet and philosopher who is a trained marine biologist. He was a naturalist guide in the Galapagos, the Amazon and Himalayas, before switching to a professional poet, yes there’s such a thing. As I heard him explain once "because the language of science wasn’t largest enough to convey existence".
He’s written more than a dozen poetry and pros book, his latest is called ‘Still Possible’ and available in Australia in a few months.
Many of you have requested David join my podcast, so this is a very special episode.
There is so many wild idea he has gifted me over the years. The wild idea I discuss with David, is the idea I talk about a lot, one a borrowed from David, always ask more beautiful questions.
My bold aim with this episode is to get you into poetry and ask more beautiful questions.
