David Pocock retired from professional sport at the height of his career to devote his life to the climate crisis.
He was the captain of the Wallabies, the only Australian player to be included in World Rugby's team of the decade, but - wildly - chose to leave it all behind to lead activist projects here and in Africa.
David talks with Sarah Wilson about grief, the sadness that comes from facing the climate reality, why Australian men aren’t waking up and the how and why of his wild decision.
The following books shaped David’s activism and he’d like you to recommend them to you:
- Living Between Worlds - James Hollis
- Food Fix - Mark Hyman
- Finding Resilience - Brian Walker
- Everything is Spiritual - Rob Bell
- The Will to Change - bell hooks
- A Life on Our Planet - David Attenborough
- Call of the Reed Warbler - Charles Massy
