Matthew Layton presents Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.
On this week’s show:
The second in our series of COVID Diaries, in which we drop in on people living with low vision or blindness to see how life in the shadow of a pandemic has affected them.
During the COVID-19 period, we’ve already spoken to a number of city-dwelling people with a vision impairment.
Last week, contributor Christine Malec said that because lives in a big city, there are multiple delivery options for groceries and other essential supplies and she’s within walking distance of everywhere she needs to be.
But what if you live in a small country town, your nearest big supermarket is thirty miles away and your support worker can't come because of social distancing regulations?
Matthew’s guest this week is Tina Kresojevic (who you may remember from our first ever show about the Bushfire Crisis - https://varstudio1.podbean.com/e/studio-1-episode-1-fire-12th-february-2020/)
Tina is one of the wisest, most positive and most eloquent people you could ever have the good fortune to meet.
She’s a wife, she’s a mother, she’s a grandmother, she’s a proud citizen of Orbost, a small town in rural East Gippsland in Victoria, and she’s a fist waving ecologist and political activist.
And we have our regular appointment with the show's Mental Health and Safety Manager: Australian registered, Lifeline-certified, legally blind counsellor Tammey Candeloro.
She gets where you're coming from
