Matthew Layton presents Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.
On this week’s show:
Matthew has broken his glasses.
Again.
So he’s going to the opticians. And you’re going with him!
But have you taken a moment to think about what it’s like to give people eye tests or fit their glasses in these troubled times in which we live?
Matthew talks with his favourite Optical Dispenser Lexie Scott and his favourite Optometrist Jo Thabthiang, both of Specsavers Norwood branch in Adelaide, about working six inches away from other people’s faces during a global pandemic.
And Lexie talks us through fitting Matthew’s glasses at a desk with a giant perspex screen between them.
Also, you know that microscope thingy that you rest your chin on while your optometrist checks your eyes....
Bet you don’t know what that’s called!
Find out in this week’s show.
