Matthew Layton presents Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio’s weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.
On this week’s show…
Matthew’s guest this week is Shane Dunbar Reid
Shane lives in Byron Bay.
He’s a family man and a keen surfer - a normal solid Australian bloke.
But fifteen years ago at one of his regular check-ups, Shane’s optometrist discovered early signs of macular degeneration.
Since then Shane has been fighting a constant battle to save his sight - a battle that means he has to have injections into his eyeballs every eight weeks.
Please do get in touch with the show with your stories of living with macular degeneration, or if there’s something else you think we need to talk about.
Your experience may be of help to someone else going through the same type of thing.
