	Description:		Home Affairs secretary Michael Pezzullo became widely known this week when The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and 60 Minutes published a cache of text messages between him and a former Liberal power broker, Scott Briggs. The messages, which span many years, seem to show that Pezzullo used Briggs as a conduit between himself and former Coalition prime ministers Scott Morrison and Malcolm Turnbull. Pezzullo was stood down and an investigation is pending, but questions remain about the power of unelected officials, the cosy access Pezzullo had with Coalition figures, and what influence he may have had on political decisions. Also, the implications for federal politics of Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ resignation, and an update on the Voice campaign.
