For the first time in three years, the AFL grand final will be played at the MCG in front of a capacity crowd.
But it’ll be two teams from out of town who will play off for the ultimate glory. Geelong and Sydney are through to the grand final after one of the most thrilling finals series in recent years.
Neither team has won a premiership in 10 years but they’ve come painfully close. Geelong lost a grand final in 2020 and the Swans played off in losing grand finals in 2014 and 2016.
There is plenty in this game for the casual observer: retiring legends, players who have made incredible comebacks from injury, and two coaches who can cement their status as club legends with a win on Saturday.
