Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has landed in Australia today, after a lightning visit to the war-torn country.
There, Albanese met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, and committed to sending $100 million in military aid to Ukraine.
The military spending is more than some of Ukraine’s European allies have pledged, and comes at the end of Albanese’s week-long trip to Europe to attend the NATO summit in Madrid.
But national security experts have questioned why Australia is yet to reopen its embassy in the capital, Kyiv, leaving us without a diplomatic presence on the ground.
