As of Monday, 69 people in the town of 720 had tested positive for COVID-19, the highest transmission rate in the state. Despite being identified as a priority group for vaccines 18 months ago, only 6.3 per cent of Aboriginal people in western NSW are fully vaccinated, compared with 26 per cent of the wider population.
