Julie Nicholson needs little introduction. The Batman to Fiona Verity's Robin, the Art W**k duo have forged a pathway in the Australian art world with their much loved podcast.
But we're not here to talk about that. We're here to talk about Julie's art. Julie has been creating ever since she can remember. Loving the process of bringing something to life out of just her mind, hands and whatever she had around her.
Working now with pencils and paints, Julie has found her groove in abstract landscapes.
In today's episode of Interview with an artist we talk about many things including:
- how and why she moved her practice towards abstraction
- how she used to hate the term art practice and why that's changed
- what happens to her when she gets to lap 8 in an ocean pool
- and the magic of five minute moments when you are juggling the realities of parenting, an artistic practice, a podcast and life in general
It was such a treat having Julie on the show and I am sure you'll enjoy this episode as much as I did.
