Sydney based, UK born artist Sarah Waghorn and I bonded over a flower - the angel trumpet. And it seems I'm not the only to bond with Sarah over flowers and the way she conveys them in her paintings. What began as an excuse to get away from domestic drudgery has now turned into Sarah's second career. Today we talk about flowers, art prizes, securing her first solo and how the favourite thing in her studio is something she made herself.
Sarah was due to have her first solo exhibition open today, the 9th of September at Grainger Gallery. However like many artists across the country, and the globe, her show has been postponed. We look forward to seeing it when it can indeed open and by gosh, what a night of celebration and excitement it will be.
