Episode 003 of the Former Action Guys Podcast focuses on Marine Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) SSgt Christopher “Cheese” Limberg.
During this episode we discuss Chris’s first deployment to Fallujah, Iraq as a member of a Civil Affairs team. His second deployment with the Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) where he was recalled to ship in order to assist in the humanitarian mission to Haiti. We also cover his time in Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) school where he became a certified JTAC. Following that, we discuss his 2010 deployment to Afghanistan with 3rd Battalion 2nd Marine Regiment.
During this deployment Chris worked with the snipers who rose to fame because of their prowess behind the gun but had their careers essentially ended due to a leaked video. He also supported multiple combat operations throughout Musa Qala as a JTAC and was unfortunately part of a collateral damage incident involving civilians.
Finally, we discuss his transition and what he is up to today.
