On this episode of the podcast, I interview my father for Father's Day and learn more about the family's history. My grandfather served in the Army Air Corps towards the end of WWII and during the occupation afterwards in Japan and eventually transferred to the newly formed Air Force.
We also discuss my dad's time being stationed in Germany with the Army in the mid-70's. Following his active service, he eventually made his way to the Army Reserves where he worked as a mental health specialist. We get into some pretty disturbing content at this point as we talk about him working with soldiers at Ft. Benning and military prisoners at Ft. Leavenworth.
We also get into his involvement in the Gulf War with the 377th Combat Support Hospital out of Chattanooga, TN. Having treated over 800 patients (and one monkey), it was quickly time to wrap up the lightning-fast ground war.
