Maj Charles Benbow is a Marine Infantry officer that has completed nine deployments; including the invasion of Iraq. Benbow was formerly an enlisted Marine engineer assigned to the 4th Marine Division and attend the Virginia Military Institute.
In this episode, we talk about Benbow's time at VMI and his movement in the Marine Corps from being enlisted in the reserves to becoming an active-duty officer. Of his nine deployments, we focus on the invasion of Iraq and his involvement with Task Force Tarawa as a part of the 2nd Battalion 8th Marine Regiment.
