Description: Children in England and Wales are returning to school this week. Schools minister Nick Gibb told Mishal Husain, “We will take swift action in any school where there are positive tests,” adding that "whenever a pupil or a member of staff shows symptoms they will be asked to return home and then to take a test and they will be given priority in the testing regime”. He ruled out introducing mass testing of asymptomatic pupils and staff, saying: “The advice is that these tests are effective in people that are showing symptoms and if the school is concerned that parents are unable to get to a testing centre then schools have been given a small number of home testing kits”. With Sammy Wright, vice principal of Southmoor Academy in Sunderland and Social Mobility Commission lead for Schools. Credit: Press Association
