On September 23, the government amended the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010. This law that regulates the foreign funds that are received by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) has become more stringent. The recent amendments will potentially make it harder for NGOs, particularly the grassroot ones, to avail of foreign funds.
 
We speak to Harsh Jaitli, the CEO of Voluntary Action Network India that represents around 10,000 organisations to understand the impact of the recent legislation on civil society.
