Then came the Lutz family.

Just over a year after the murders, George and Kathy Lutz moved into the DeFeo home — and lasted only 28 days.

They claimed to hear the same voices. They described green slime oozing from the walls, crucifixes turning upside down, and a demonic pig with glowing red eyes watching them through the windows.

Whether hoax, haunting, or hysteria, the story became legend — spawning books, documentaries, and one of the most successful horror franchises of all time.
