Many people believe the murders had to do with his obsession for his alligator farm. Ball's was fascinated by his alligator farm. He enjoyed feeding them exotic things such as live cats or dogs. It is the belief of some people that ball was fascinated with feeding the alligators weird different foods and eventually fed them humans.
