Tragically, however, the family wouldn't live to see the new year because that night they were all brutally murdered in their own home. A plethora of evidence was left behind at the scene, including DNA, fingerprints, half-eaten food and even an entire outfit, but still to this day this case remains one of Japan's most notorious unsolved murders.
