Description: You may think what are you are hearing is the piano, but actually it’s the sound of the yangqin, a traditional Chinese plucked-string instrument with over four hundred years of history. Nicknamed "the butterfly zither", it is considered an all-round instrument due to its incredible expressivity and the ability to accompany other instruments in an ensemble. Today, let’s get up-close and personal with the sounds of the butterfly zither, with Ms Shi Yue, also known as the yangqin princess.
