Description:

Six weeks before last year's Paris-Roubaix Mathew Hayman crashed and broke a bone in his arm. He was told he'd be out of action for six weeks.

Five days after the crash he was on a turbo trainer in his garage, his arm supported on a ladder. Five weeks later he returned to racing in Spain. Amazingly, he started his 15th Paris-Roubaix, the race he most loves. He hoped to help his team. But then he got in the day's big break. Then he found himself in the winning move with four-time winner Tom Boonen...

The race that unfolded was one of the greatest in the history of the Hell of the North - with the most surprising winner.

In this third Cycling Podcast Friends Special of 2017, Hayman relives his triumph, describing the buildup to the race before watching - for the first time - and talking us through the thrilling final 20km.
