The central feature of the IMATRONIC Festival is the award of the Giga-Hertz Prize, this year presented in the three categories “Electronic Music”, “Sound Art” as well as “Dance and Media”. The main prize honors renowned composers for their life‘s work, the four production prizes are opened for younger generation contestants. This year Francis Dhomontwon the Giga-Hertz Main Prize in the category "Electronic Music".

Im Zentrum des IMATRONIC-Festivals steht die Verleihung des Giga-Hertz-Preises, der in diesem Jahr erstmals in den drei Kategorien »Elektronische Musik«, »Sound Art« sowie »Tanz und Medien« vergeben wird. Der Hauptpreis zeichnet das Lebenswerk und künstlerische Schaffen renommierter Komponisten elektronischer und akusmatischer Musik aus. In diesem Jahr wurde der Hauptpreis in der Kategorie "Elektronische Musik" an Francis Dhomont vergeben.
